The drip system consists of just a few components and can be assembled without tools. With a Tropf-Blumat system, up to 500 plants can be supplied at the same time. Changes and extensions are possible at any time; all parts are also available individually.
Each plant, container or group of plants is equipped with at least 1 Tropf-Blumat and adjusted to the individual needs of the plant. For larger vessels or surfaces, several or longer sensors are provided. All Tropf-Blumat are connected to the common supply hose, with a variety of arrangement options and can be changed at any time.
This is exactly how it works:
The Tropf-Blumat is filled with water. This water is not used for irrigation, but for control. If the soil becomes dry, the Tropf-Blumat releases some water into the soil. This creates a negative pressure inside and the valve opens. If the soil is sufficiently moist, the water is sucked back into the Tropf-Blumat through the clay cone and the valve closes. A simple physical principle, but highly effective and reliable for many years.
Water connection:
Your irrigation system begins here, with the 8mm supply hose you can then reach plants up to 60 meters away. The water supply can be established in three ways.
water tap
The Blumat pressure reducer is screwed onto a tap, so the system is ready for use. This water connection can also be used to supply plants that are up to 4 meters higher.
tank
Supplying water with a high tank is simple and flexible. Shape and size are irrelevant, the only important thing is that the tank is higher than the plants themselves, if possible 100 cm higher, preferably more. The larger the tank, the longer you can water. The tank can of course also be filled with rainwater.
pump
With a pump you can suck water from a well or a deeper tank and use it to supply your Tropf-Blumat system. Only use pumps with an integrated expansion tank (domestic waterworks) and install the Blumat pressure reducer at the outlet of the pump. This water connection can also be used to supply plants that are up to 4 meters higher.
If the tank is at ground level, you can also supply the Tropf-Blumat system with controlled small pumps.
