Gotu Kola (Centella Asiatica) has been used as a medicinal herb for centuries. It is mentioned in the French Pharmacopoeia of 1884, but has been used in China for 2000 years and in Indian Ayurvedic medicine for 3000 years.
Gotu Kola, also known as Tiger grass, is an Ayurvedic plant native to Sri Lanka. "Two leaves a day promise long youth." - says a Sri Lankan proverb.
The name tiger grass was coined by hunters who observed that wounded big cats regularly rubbed their wounds against the leaves of this plant and were quickly healed.
The plant does not contain cola or caffeine, as its name suggests. Caffeine-free, it boosts energy levels, stimulates memory and may help the brain and nervous system.
